Confederation Power Inc. is a developer and operator of renewable power projects. Our vision is to become the leading developer of profitable, sustainable renewable power projects in Canada.

Confederation focuses its efforts on operating its existing wind power plants, progressing and constructing our developmental pipeline of wind and hydro power projects, and adding new sites to expand our portfolio of renewable energy projects. Our core projects consist of:

  • 24 MW of operating wind capacity in Nova Scotia. All power is sold to Nova Scotia Power Inc. under long-term power purchase agreements;
  • 18 hydroelectric sites in development located in British Columbia representing over 150 MW of capacity;
  • Expansion potential of over 250 MW at the Nova Scotia wind farms; and
  • 2 wind power development sites in Saskatchewan representing 40 MW of capacity.

In addition to our wind and hydro assets, we continue to develop and evaluate other renewable energy opportunities, such as biomass and solar energy.

Confederation Power builds strong relationships with First Nations and local stakeholders by openly engaging these groups at the earliest project stages, committing to sustainable business practices, and the highest levels of environmental stewardship. We strive to work with local businesses and suppliers in order to maximize the benefits to the communities we work in.

The company is led by an experienced management team with a long-term track record in developing, operating, and financing renewable power projects. This experience, coupled with our sustainable development philosophy, provides the foundation to build strong and lasting relationships with our project stakeholders, which allows for navigation through the challenges associated with renewable power development and operation. We expect this focus on environmental sustainability and safety for our construction and operation activities will create long term value for our shareholders and stakeholders.
